Stone Protectors

In central Summerlund, a tall plateau rises from the lush green rolling hills. Surrounding it are rock formations with vaguely humanoid shapes that seem to be standing at guard. The locals call them the Stone Protectors.

They tell a tale that the formations were once living Giants who swore not to abandon their posts when during a war with Dragons. They stood guard until they turned to stone.

Local youths sometimes sneak out to sleep by the stones, saying it brings strength and wisdom. Sometimes they have strange dreams that leave them unsettled. Even more rarely, one of them returns...just a bit off. These last are sometimes called Stonetouched.
