Order of the Iron Palm
The Order of the Iron Palm is a Monastic Order based out of Jaipal in Chadramauthry. Its founder was born in Jaipal, traveled south to Dojhan, and learned the ways of a Kalashtar master. She then returned home to Jaipal and adapted the mysteries she had been shown to her worship of The Tinavri. Now, the Iron Palm provides protection to the church of the three gods, especially the Chosen of the Tinavri.
In order to symbolize one's surrender of the self to the will of The Tinavri, the monks of the Iron Palm wear masks. Originally, all of the masks were identical, but, especially at the higher ranks, each monk fashions a mask representing something of who they are. In a way, they create anonymity for themselves, but also create a new identity that the order knows them under.
Part of the Iron Palm's tradition involves a strong hierarchy, with each level answerable to those above them, in 17 ranks, as follows, from lowest to highest:
