Merchant Princes of Castamir

The Merchant Princes are the ruling body of the Free City of Castamir. Rather than have kings, sultans, and the like, the Free City is a meritocracy, where the wealthiest merchant families advance a member to the Council of Trade, where the Merchant Princes discuss all matters of importance.

Each Merchant Prince has one of more fields of influence in which they control most of the city’s dealings. They are as follows:

• Alida al’Marat – (Bedourani woman) – Textiles, carpets, and clothing.
• Bassam al’Mareed – (Bedourani man) – Furnishings and woodwork
• Fatimah al’Marat – (Bedourani woman) – Weapons and armor
• Hamidullah al’Demiir (Bedourani man) – Ivory and Glass
• Hrakazeel Azulnar – (Blue Dragonborn man) – Slaves, Blacksmithing work
• Kafiir al’Namashar – (Bedourani man) – Horses, camels, and all manner of land transport
• Masharash Flameheart (Flamesoul Genasi man) – Spices and wine
• Qasim al'Sharann – (Bedourani man) – Lumber & ships
• Safwat al’Hradiir – (Bedourani man) – Cheeses and fine foods
• Yasmir al’Qeshet – (Bedourani man) – Artworks, statuary, magic-items.
• Zohra al’Mahmeti – (Bedourani woman) – Gems & Jewelry
