Geryon (GAIR-ee-yawn)

Geryon is the disputed master of Stygia, the 5th level of Hell and arch-enemy of Levistus, its current Duke. In 575 SKR, after a particularly bitter defeat by Levistus, Geryon successfully manipulated an Eladrin Sorcerer into opening a gate for him. He came through, claiming the castle he was brought to, which became known as the Bastion of the Lord of Bats. He remained there until 1081 SKR, when he was defeated by the Fire Wasps, forced to return to Hell. He now plots vengeance against both Levistus and the Adventurers who defeated him.
He is a fearsome hand to hand fighter, as well as a competent spellcaster. He also possesses an enchanted horn that allows him to summon bat-like fiends to fight alongside him. He is sometimes known as "The Beast" and sometimes as "The Lord of Bats".
