Sister Elara the Twisted

Traveling bard that visited Carth and told stories to Ricard. Has become a lich, and now serves Leandro Cervantes as a guardian.

Rank: Head Cultist

Job Title: Leader of the Cult of Suffering

Appearance: Elara is a gaunt, almost skeletal figure, with sunken eyes and a mouth twisted into a permanent sneer. Her once-pristine white robes have long since been stained crimson with the blood of her victims. Her body is covered in self-inflicted scars, each marking a "sacred wound" given to her in her rituals. She carries a staff topped with a writhing, living eye that constantly watches her surroundings, and a ceremonial dagger known as *"Pain’s Kiss,"* which she uses to carve runes into her flesh during her dark rites.

Backstory: Once a kind-hearted healer, A traveling bard named Elara Silverstrings would often visit Carth and tell tales of her travels. One year, for the anniversary of Carth's liberation, she organized a huge concert and gathering to celebrate. This even was when Ricard truly realized the power of community and of the power of reknown. He realized that Elara would go on to tell tales of Carth and it's people to other communities of the world, increasing Carth's reknown and ensuring that it wouldn't be forgotten.

Elara became obsessed with the idea that true enlightenment could only be achieved through suffering. She began torturing herself in secret, believing that the pain brought her closer to the gods. When her behavior was discovered, she was cast out of her order, but rather than abandoning her beliefs, she founded the Cult of Suffering. Her followers now revere her as a prophet of agony, and she performs dark rituals in Borbon, sacrificing the innocent in the name of her twisted faith.

Dossier: Sister Elara spends her days deep within the catacombs of Borbon, performing gruesome rites with her cultists. She occasionally emerges to preach her gospel of pain to the terrified citizens, who fear being chosen as her next sacrifice.
