The Doorway, Specialist Tattoos

Hello & welcome to The Doorway!

Who are we?

We're a world-renowned magical tattoo and piercing parlour. The use of our specialty Silver InkTM, made from real Silver Branch trees, allows us to provide unparalleled tattoos to aid their user in foresight and worldwalking magic, as well as those designed to heal any damage caused by such magics. This special InkTM is also used in some of our famous Necromancy healing rituals to bring the dead back to life.   We are also the sole business known to (legally) perform certain complex healing rituals and ceremonies, all making extensive use of tattoos.

Necromancy

Afflicted with a terminal disease? Fated to die by the next moon? Have a deceased loved one you just can't bare to part with? Good news, my friends! We here at The Doorway understand that death doesn't have to be the end, and offer only the best Necromantic healing rituals for our patients. Thanks to our trademarked InksTM, these patients come from far and away to seek an alternative to their Afterlife. From murder to car crash, we've seen it all. Not convinced? Don't take our word for it, click here to read their reviews!

Architecture

You will find us halfway down Pixie Street, marked by our overhanging sign declaring 'Magical Tattoos'. When approaching the shopface, you will see vines of gold, green and pink magical plants growing up across the dark brick wall, kept away from the windows and door by a small, visible field of repelling magic. The door itself is arched, carved with knots and nature imagery in a modern Witch style, left its natural dark brown. Scrapes and cuts scar the woodface (we've been around over 200 years, after all!) and if you look closely, you will see a row of small Runes etched across the bottom of the door.    Upon looking through the blue-painted window, looking past the advertisement and the 'Open/Closed' sign, you will be able to see the interior of our shop. The front room is large and open, with shiny, blackleaf floors and dark purple walls. Behind the desk on the left, a large board on the wall gives a breakdown of most of the shop's charges. Beyond the tattoo chairs and waiting area, the back wall is split into 3 graceful arches, lined with Silver Branch. Long curtains of black silk are attached to the arches, hiding the backrooms from the public.    These backrooms, which stretch far beyond the outside of the building thanks to magic, and the basement, are where we discuss and perform any healing rituals.

Magical Tattoos

A versatile form of magic which can give the user everything from the ability to use temporary astral wings, reminders of when to take their meds, and even the ability to feel and use a prosthetic limb as though it were a biological limb. More controlled tattoos are those which allow a weapon to be placed on your skin in ink and withdrawn from your body as a real, functioning weapon when needed.    Functional tattoos, such as those mentioned above, often require a lot of time to use and more time to master. Non-functional tattoos are those purely aesthetic in nature, such as animated tattoos or those which glow. Learning to turn these tattoos off and on can take a lot of time and energy to master, so most people never bother to try. These kinds of tattoos can be applied to non-magic users, though if the user doesn't wear an external magic source, then the tattoo will need to be reapplied.

Magical Piercings

The Doorway also offers piercing services. Magical piercings are slightly less versatile than tattoos, but can offer subtler ways to perform most of the same- and certain different- feats of magic. Popular choices include tongue and/or lip piercings which allow the wearer to speak if mute or to speak foreign languages, as well as earrings which translate unknown languages into the wearer's native language or which allow the deaf to hear.

Alternate Payment Options

*For free healing services, please provide a valid insurance card or proof of a medical diagnosis upon request. Please note: all service fees can be substituted for an agreed upon trade of goods or services considered to be of equivalent value.

Good necromancers - 9/10

These fellas brought me back 2 days after my first death. Unfortunately, one of my limbs didn't make it back with me. Gotta give these guys props though, soon as they realised the mistake, they worked to fix it and apologised at lot. In the end, they couldn't fix my original arm, but they gave me a prosthetic for free. Even threw in a couple prosthetic aid tattoos and a few coupons for free

Don't listen to Felix - 10/10

Felix doesn't know what they're talking about!! Tattoos are expensive guys!! They're an investment! I've been to 4 different magic tattoo parlours, Doorway is by far the best on offer. The prices are reasonable for a normal tattoo, never mind the time, effort and resources it takes for a magical one!! And if you genuinely can't afford it, they offer a really fair trade agreement. Honestly you couldn't find a better shop!

Really nice, great Necromancers - 10/10

Booked myself an appointment the day after I found out I was terminal. I was nervous as hell doing it. I mean, we've all heard the stories right? 'Mancees coming back different, not quite 'there', mentally speaking, or so violent they have to be put down again... I was terrified bout becoming another Johnny Hollow or something, but everyone at the Doorway was so nice, they spent hours talking me through the procedure, answering all my questions. They let me call a whole bunch anytime I thought of something else to ask, it was amazing. Then one day, I went to sleep and woke up on the floor of the Doorway. Even after their job was done, they went above and beyond to make sure I was alright, make sure all my parts were back an all that. Honestly, I can't thank them enough for everything they did for me, I owe them so much <3
