Prince Kkánujo

Prince Kkánujo ses Ngáxom

I met him so briefly at that dinner, and yet he made me feel like he had only come to see me. I wish I could talk to him again.
— Enamoured court goer
Prince Kkánujo is the youngest child of Queen Shrá II of Ngáxom , and a well known fixture of Ngáxomes political life. Though not in line for the throne in any capacity, his charisma has made it so a number of people prefer him over his older brother, Crown Prince Neshun.

History

Born in 12 Return to the then Princess Shrá of Ngáxom, Kkánujo was nearly a decade younger than his next sibling, and was quite the surprise for his parents. Due to having multiple older siblings, the boy was given a freer reign in his education than many of them, and he chose to specialise in arts and diplomatic matters. It was suggested early that he be engaged to an Äshrrowädhayo prince or princess to strengthen diplomatic ties, but efforts to arrange this failed when Kkánujo turned down each royal one by one.   However, recognising the potential fallout of his rejections, Kkánujo offered himself as a member of Ngáxom's diplomatic delegation in Äshrrowädh instead of marriage. This accepted, he travelled to the kingdom in 33 Return to assume his position, and has been a regular fixture of Äshrrowädhayo court and high society for the 6 years since.   In that time, he has become somewhat notorious for his flirtatious demeanour. Many people, from servers to nobles, have claimed to have had dalliances with the attractive Ngáxomes prince, or have attempted to take it beyond flirtation. To date, his response has been the same to all such advances - a polite rejection.

Hobby

Outside of his diplomatic responsibilities, Kkánujo is reputed to be a prolific writer of romantic novels, albeit under a pseudonym. While he has never admitted to such activities, the publication timing of the works of a so-called "Yuumi Dyaramu" line up all too well with the times he is in Äshrrowädh on official business. Additionally, the descriptions used by this mysterious author seem rather inspired by the colourful characters of Äshrrowädh's courts, in ways which only an occupant of those circles would know deeply.   Despite the transparency of his pseudonym, and the speed with which he was identified as Yuumi, Kkánujo maintains that he is merely a 'fan' of romantic texts, rather than an author of such. The opinions of the court on his work is largely positive, with the most negative opinions often coming from those who feel they have been the inspiration for the 'villainous' characters, who are typically those who get in the way of the primary romances.

Romance

Despite his propensity for banter, Kkánujo seems to have no interest in any "further" relationship of any kind other than purely platonic. The list of people he considers friends or allies would rival that of the greatest and most well traveled socialite, and flirtation aside he is known for his kindness and his creativity.   Rumours abound of the source of his refusal to date, ranging from a 'lost love' from his youth to a determination to hold his cards close until he finds 'the one'. The simpler explanation is, of course, that he simply does not care for romance, but that is hard to accept for the lovelorn among the Äshrrowädhayo court.
