Arkleton
Arkleton is a city with colorful houses, where its people lead simple but fulfilling lives under the rule of its king. It is the capital city of a small kingdom called Analand.
The people here worship the Goddess Libra, and most of the harvest from their plentiful fields goes to the Goddess's temples as offerings. The kingdom's exported wine, wheat, poultry, and fish are packed here in the capital, and shipped off to Cauldron, and Khare, as these other cities' hitherlands.
Geography of Analand
The neighbors of Lendle and Kakhabad eye greedily towards Analand's fertile resources. To defend themselves from raiders, the Great Wall of Analand was constructed to secure its borders. Two keeps stood watch against the invaders - Catopani Gate to the South, and Fortress of the Sun to the West.
The project was too costly, and was abandoned before it was close to the finishing, resulting in weaken defenses at the outer walls. Today, only Catopani Gate remains, the Citadel fallen to ruin decades ago. Unable to reclaim it, a new keep was constructed to guard the Monastery of Libra at the sacred Lake Libra, home to the Shrine of the Goddess.
Politics and Factions
The Arkleton Brotherhood of Rogues and Thieves
The Arkleton Brotherhood of Rogues and Thieves controlled much of the crime in Arkleton. The Brotherhood was led by Ardash, a male human criminal originally from Cantopani in The Shamutanti Hills. As The Brotherhood knows not to bite more than they could chew, the king turns one eye. Their headquarters is the city's Thieves' Guild.
Kerowyn Traders
Madam Kerowyn is a middle-aged merchant who has made a name for herself from having a strategic mind at arranging trade routes and strong alliances. Her two children, Talcen and Sharwyn, prefer the life of adventuring to the displeasure of their mother. Her establishments include the General Store and Miner's Exchange. Madam Kerowyn is a member of the Merchant's Guild.
