Loryva - The Eternal Seer
Loryva is considered to be a minor deity but her reach impacts both the moral and divine realm in equal measure.
Domain
Loryva is the goddess of prophecy. She hand picks seers and prophets and acts as the channel between them and their visions from the cosmic void. It is said that visions and prophecies are difficult to understand because they are fuelled by power beyond mortal understanding. It requires great skill, and willpower of Loryva's most prized chosen to successfully interpret.
Appearance & Personality
Loryva is a thin middle aged woman. She carries a special tome that is filled with the prophecies of the past, those still being played out and the future.
She has been known to provide brief glimpses of prophecy and visions to those she deems worthy. But against those who irritate her, the visions she can bestow have been known to drive people mad...it is unwise to anger the goddess of prophecy.
Rituals
- The Day of Futures: is celebrated by followers of Loryva in which they gather at a secret site and attempt to pool their gifts to seek guidance from the goddess.
Lore/History
- Over a century ago Loryva confronted a crazed demigod who was trying to rewrite destiny for their own gain by forcing seers to misuse their gifts; capturing seers and forcing them to give him the outcomes of battles and events so he could profit from them. The battle between them spanned the astral and material planes but concluded with Loryva trapping the demigod in the Crystal of Eternal Echoes.
- Five hundred years ago Fineon Sungrove, a halfling from Willowburrow, angered Loryva by calling himself a seer of Loryva. Fineon attempted to control people and situations to his advantage by giving 'warnings' of basically not siding with him. Seeing as he wanted to be a seer Loryva decided to help him make his words true and flooded his mind with visions of possible cataclysmic events. Within hours he went mad from the visions.
