Tomus Scroll

Lowly document of creation

Purpose

Tomus scrolls and other writings by Vitomaro can be found throughout the land. As Vitomaro was often scrawling his notes he would have a number of writing implements enchanted to follow his motions and copy down his notes, often into other languages or in enchanted ink.   A Tomus scroll is not sentient but it is intelligent, at least for a piece of notepaper. A Tomus scroll has a small section of swirling ink at its bottom that dynamically writes itself in accordance with a little bit of information. The scroll will display a notice and direction if another of Vitomaro Illud's works is within a certain distance, about a few miles. Furthermore, when brought into the close proximity of such a work the Tomus scroll, and whatever the other work is, will attempt to update each other according to Vitomaro Illud's strange list of priorities. This means that the Tomus Scroll will update the other document if it has newer information and the required space or the scroll will be updated in return.

Historical Details

Background

Tomus Scrolls are one of the many different creations left behind by Vitomaro. They are often regarded as the lowest of his creations, often only a page or so long of jumbled notes akin to quick scrawling on a handy piece of parchment. They do however bear many of the signature enchantments that Vitomaro uses. The scrolls are not sentient, far from it, but they do have a suite of uses that are definitely intelligent. The Tomis scrolls are able to somewhat perceive one another as well as share some of their notes. If a Tomis scrolls has space for additional writings and another Tomis scroll comes into range with material is of sufficient priority, often denoted by Vitomaro's scrawl, the lesser scroll will attempt to copy the material. Tomis scrolls also tend to lead whomever holds it to a near Tomis scroll or other works of Vitomaro. It is believed that this is Vitomaro's gift to other individuals that pursue knowledge as he does or to simply help Vitomaro himself when he is retracing his steps and re-complete his notes.
