Stewart Humblestrength

Stewart Humblestrength (he/him) is a character played by Tristan (he/him) in the Modron Maze. He is a human oath of devotion paladin with the knight background.

Description

Stewart is a tall (6'0) lanky knight that wears extremely ill fitting gold and silver armor. Underneath the armor he has a deep farmer's tan, gold eyes, and a mop of blond hair.
Stewart is extremely friendly and loves helping folk, he is an optimist that always tries to find a solution that will work out for everyone much to his detriment. Also to his detriment Stewart is easily distracted often taking on quests and getting sidetracked by other people in need and completes his quests extremely late or not at all. He is a very likable person most people find it hard to not like him even villains he goes against find him endearing in one way or another.

Backstory

When Stewart was 8, he suffered childhood trauma that has shaped his life ever since. His brother, Alex, was killed by a black knight. Stewart idolized his older brother and followed him wherever he went. One afternoon he followed his brother and his friends into a nearby village, Alex and his friends were drinking in the tavern and stupidly picked a fight with the black knight. Stewart rushed out from behind the tavern walls to try and stop Alex from his foolery but Alex in his drunken stupidity would not listen to his younger brother.
After seeing his brother and his friends easily massacred by the black knight, Stewart was frozen to the spot until he felt a cold reassuring hand on his shoulder. He turned to see the familiar but ghostly visage of his late grandfather, Stewart could do nothing but cry and it was during this moment he was blessed with the armor's strength. As Stewart grew up he had a fear and reverence for the armor, knowing his grandfather resided in this armor and that his brother died in it. At the age of 17 Stewart tried on his family's armor, ill fitting and well worn. Stewart looked absurd but he never felt more brave and secure that being a knight is what he wanted to do with his life.
