Arianwyn Phobos
Arianwyn Phobos (they/them) is a character played by Keiran (she/they) in Baba's Black Cauldron. They are a shadar-kai way of mercy Monk with the Smuggler background.
Description
Arianwyn is deathly pale, with dimples and a few facial piercings including their septum and their bridge. They have pointy elf ears, are always seen in all black, usually tight fitting clothing. Their hair is black, short and straight, cut right at their chin and parted neatly down the middle. They have a scar that cuts through their left eyebrow down across their left eye. They're also often seen smoking a cigarette. Arianwyn has been a little bit broken by the Quarantine Zone. They've been there for most of their life, and they have a lot more life to live. They learned some healing from some people around the Quarantine Zone, but their heart isn't in it, they just do it because what else is there to do? They're kind of morose.Backstory
They are a descendant of a veteran from the Shadowfell/Feywild war. Arianwyn is one of those deposited in the Quarantine Zone for unsavory criminal behavior, back during Diacon's reign. They've been in the Quarantine Zone since they were in their mid 30s, and have spent most of their life there. They were caught attempting to smuggle people across the closed borders through the Feywild, although each have been unsuccessful and the scientists and wizards that got closest never truly reached the other side. Arianwyn didn't really care; either way, they got paid. Through a deal struck between Diacon and the fey court, Diacon was able to send Arianwyn to the Quarantine Zone rather than letting them run amuck in the Feywild. In the Quarantine Zone, Arianwyn's rebellious tendencies were broken down, molded into who they are at the start of the one-shot. They started relying heavily on other people, doing what they could to assuage the misery of the Quarantine Zone, and actually picking up some neat healing tricks to deal with the sick. They're unconventional, but they work. They want to get back out there and see the world again, and while they're not sure what'd they'd do if they were able to get out of the Quarantine Zone, it's a coin toss as to whether they'll go back to their old ways or actually try to do some good in Kauvet. Their anger is deepseated, smushed under years of misery, but it's still there. So who knows!Trivia
