Orc
A hardy race of large burly humanoids that reside in the cold frozen tundra of the north. Appearing out of icy forests no one quite knows where they came from. Many have speculated the history and ancestry of the orcs. Some say they came from the north pole, others that they were once elves that tampered with dark magics and have been altered. Who knows what the truth is.
Whatever the truth of their existence might be there is one thing that can't be disbuted. They are the toughest race in all of Tír Suaimhnis. Living in small tribes across the north the orcs carve out a life for themselves. Skilled hunters, fierce warriors, wise shamans and powerful mages. They live simple nomadic lives, following the great migrations of elk and bison. Some orcs have settled villages too, relying heavily on fishing and livestock of goats and pigs. However, whether the orcs are settled or wanderers they all get most of their resources through the same thing. Raiding humans.
Through raiding the Kingdom Polliers and the successor states, the orcs have managed to supplement their armouries. Steel armour and weapons, vehicles suited for southlands, arcane grimoirs and artifacts. Orc crafters and mages have used these to full effect, making the orcs that much more deadly. As the orcs developed their technology and magic, so too did their society. What was once a race of disjointed tribes roaming the wilds has now become one grand tribe. The Ukh Meddal. The biggest and strongest tribe has assimilated or destroyed nearly all the other orc tribes. Now they stand as a dominant force in the north, and their current warchief has their eyes set on the south. With the realm of humans fractured and weak, this is the perfect oppourtunity for a time of orcs.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Averaging between 6-7ft tall and naturally muscular the orcs are a distinctly big race. With pale grey/green skin, deep underbites that allow their large tusked lower canines to protude from their mouths. Dark, coarse black hair and small piercing eyes beneath a heavy brow. The orcs have a formidable look to them.
Growth Rate & Stages
Orcs mature around 20 years of age and live close to 200 years if they ever make it that far. Their harsh home environment, and warlike nature often take the lives orcs before they complete their full life.
