Kobold
A small bipedal draconic reptile folk from the Jade Island subserviant to the much larger longzhu they share their home with. The kobolds make up the working peasant and servant caste within the Dynasty. Where the longzhu serve as their masters and employers, dictating the lives of their smaller kin.
What kobolds lack in strength and stature they make up for in cunning and wit. By avoiding the ire of their masters they are able to live simple lives under the protection of the longzhu, in exchange for their loyalty.
Some kobolds are wiley enough to become quite wealthy as house servants to noble lords, clerks to administrators, scribes for mages or a generals footman.
Basic Information
Anatomy
Small ectothermic (cold blooded) reptillian draconids that stand between 2-3ft tall. Covered in all manner scale colours, with squat snouts and sharp little teeth. They have tails that average around 1.5ft long and their physique is often slender and sinewy. Tiny little horns line their browridge and short soft spines trail down their spine.
Genetics and Reproduction
Kobolds reproduce through laying eggs, females will on average lay around 10 eggs per clutch. Making kobold families quite large. Many kobold females will have multiple mates to try and have larger families with the genes of the strongest, fastest or smartest children.
Growth Rate & Stages
Kobolds mature at around 6 years old and on average live to be 40. Their short lives make having large families more desireable.
Ecology and Habitats
Coming from the Jade Island kobolds are naturally adapted for hot and humid environments. However they will always follow their masters wherever they go. So have to adapt to whatever environment they end up.
