Firbolg

One of the two races of Jotnar that reside in the frozen northern tundra and mountains of the Unresting Highlands. Living alongside their goliath kin the firbolgs embraced the more free and chaotic natural flow of the world, not the rigid path of order, strength and conquest that the goliaths chose. Through the guidance of the gods Freyr, Sif, Frigg, Mimir and Freyja they became more in touch with spirits, plants, animals and magic.

Preferring to live in smaller clans and inhabiting the more secluded forest taiga and mountain vallies, living off whatever nature could provide them but never taking more than what was necessary. These clans are led by both a chieftan and shaman, one deciding on the physical path the clan takes and the other the spiritual path.

However with the world in chaos and the Harrowing plague rampant across the land, some firbolg have adopted living in the goliath towns and villages, with the goliath thanes and jarls promising them safety.

Rarely will you see a firbolg in the realms of men, longzhu, orcs, high elves and dwarves as they try to avoid large cities and regions embroiled in conflict. The wood and dark elves however benefit from good trade relations and a mutual understanding of each other.
