Elves
As the first inhabitants of the world they were the ones who named it, Tír Suaimhnis. They once spread all across the continent in a vast empire that was rivalled only by the longzhu and their dragon overlords, though they had an uneasy existence together both races kept to their respective worlds to avoid tensions brewing amonst one another. As time grew on however the long lived elves were joined by other races that slowly started to populate Tír Suaimhnis alongside them. First the jotnar and the dwarves started to spread out from the northern mountain ranges. A war ensued between the elves and the dwarves that raged on for hundreds of years only ending in a tentative agreement that the dwarves would reign in the mountains while the elves reigned the land.
As time went on more races would come to be and threaten the hegemony of the elves. The wily halflings spread across the flatlands settling in elvish lands and straining the resources, gnomes with their keen intellect and outlandish inventions began working with the dwarves to make their high kingdom stronger and ferocious orcs from the northern tundra ravaged the elvish lands. This forced them abandon many regions of their empire in order to better defend their eastern home provinces. Which gave way for the most destructive and expansive race to set a foothold, humans.
The elvish empire fell to ruin as the elvish people revolted and replaced the ruling monarch with a commonwealth state called a Ríocht. As the human kingdom expanded and began to dominate the world, the elves had to staunchly defend their homeland from the ever encroaching humans. A great war broke out between the two races lasting over a hundred years, the results of said war ended with a division of the continent. Humans in the west, elves in the east, divide by the Emerald Tide, Ellsing Grove, Attlebrun Mountains, Bellowing Slopes and Golden Bluff.
Currently the elves have become divided even further, since the Harrowing sweapt through their lands north of the Golden Bluff killing thousands of wood and dark elves. The Illamel Ríocht become two, splitting the wood and dark elves from the high elves. Hiding behind their mountains, in their coastal cities the high elves flourished. Thanks to trade with the Fawiyyah Emirate and the dwarves of Dern Hiroldur. While the wood and dark elves were abandoned by their bretheren. Forming the Felfalon Ríocht they tried to stave off the Harrowing. Though they managed to slow the spread of the plague both races were left bitterly weakened. More of their lands fell to the humans, seeking an oppourtunity to gain something from this disaster. Now the three races of elves are fractured, distrustful of each other and a mere shell of what they once were.

Genetics and Reproduction
Elves have a very low fertility rate due to their exceptionally long lifespan. Most elf couples may only reproduce two or three times in their lifespan.
Growth Rate & Stages
Elves reach maturity around 100 years old and adolescence at 60 years.

Geographic Origin and Distribution
Elvish homelands lay in the eastern regions of Tír Suaimhnis ranging from the Emerald Sea up to the Unresting Highlands.
The high elves inhabit the southern coasts and islands off the Emerald Sea where it is always hot, sunny and humid, with golden beaches, verdent jungles and crystal clear seas it is a veritable paradise.
Wood elves reside in the Ellsing Grove along the Súilíneach River in beautiful forest homes, the temperate environment and abudance of nature was perfect for them. After the Harrowing however many of the forest denizens have become corrupted making it a dangerous place to live.
The dark elves live in the cold northern regions around Fellereth Woods and the Lathelen Grove, building their cities next to the Bán River and Reo Lake. Their homeland is often coated in snow and ice the tundra offers plenty of resources as well as hidden threats.
High elves have a warm glow to their pale skin. Hair of blonde or black colour and bright blue eyes.
Wood elves have tanned skin. Brunette or auburn hair and hazel coloured eyes.
Dark elves have pale grey skin. White or black hair and pale grey or black eyes.
