Chapter 5: Torture Implements almost kill us

General Summary

"I guess we're going that way," I said as I turned away from the doorway I was looking into. I walked the short hallway to see bodies hanging from chains.
Skald darted through the bodies, missing them by scant inches. Before I made it to the doorway, Skald was already through the next doorway. I skirted by a body near a hole in the floor, a pebble fell into the floor and clattered noisily down. Ash, Alfred, and I  dodged through the room without touching any of the bodies when DaVinci attempted to follow us and touched a body. The chain clanked in the silence between screams and a body moved. However, Skald heard none of this and continued running into the next room, "I think I found her! She's hanging in a cage. I'll get her down."
DaVinci swung on the zombie next to him. It reacted and hit him. I pulled one of my bombs from my bag, and quickly modified it, and threw it into a small crowd of zombies. They fell to the floor like their strings were cut. Eliandra tried to throw some sort of spell at the zombies coming to her but missed. "Guys! The iron maiden and a mask are attacking me!" Skald said from around the corner. "The mask just came out of the fire, and it's kind of hot." "We're a little busy here," DaVinci yelled back as he hit another zombie. Another zombie grabbed him from behind and tried to push him toward the hole in the center of the room. "The number is three!" I yelled as I threw another holy bomb. "Guys! Throwing water on the mask didn't work," Skald yelled again. "There also seems to be a noose and some thumb screws coming for me." "I'm coming to help you!" Alfred yelled as he stabbed a zombie and ran past it. He hit the garrote with his claws, trying to shred the rope.  DaVinci shoved the zombie that had grappled him into the hole, "We need to set them on fire, or hit them with more of Mary's bombs! They are getting back up!" Ash swung on the zombie who had stood back up and it staggered back briefly. A noise from the depths of the hole rumbled up into the room. We all threw panicked glances at each other. "Ow! How does a noose hit so hard?" Alfred asked from around the corner. "I'm coming!" Ash said and he said something I didn't catch and fire briefly burst out on the thumb screws. The mask flew away from Skald towards me and he hit it as it flew towards me. The mask hit me burning my fur. As Skald was distracted the iron maiden grabbed Skald enveloping him in its bowels.
That is when the ogre appeared. I pulled out my dagger and hit the mask. Alfred dashed back into the zombie room and hit the ogre, and the ogre backhanded him, knocking him out. "Alfred, word," Ash said, and he woke up. The iron maiden grabbed Skald and started dragging him to the rack. DaVinci attacked the mask and it combusted. I swung on the thumb screws with my dagger but missed the blasted little things. They however did not miss me, and I went unconscious. I worked up to Eliandra healing me. Skald was out of the iron maiden and stabbing it with his sword, and DaVinci and Alfred were fighting the ogre. DaVinci swung again on the ogre, but overreached and hit his sword on a chain wresting it from his grasp and the sword fell down the hole. The ogre slapped him again, and DaVinci roared in pain, "Mary bomb the ogre! I don't care if it hits me too. We have to get this beast down!" I quickly modified the bomb to decrease its radius and threw it at the ogre, it did minimal damage to DaVinci. Alfred shot the ogre as Ash threw fire at it. I really need to find out how he throws fire. The iron maiden hit Skald again and he went unconscious, it started dragging him back to the rack again. DaVinci swung on the ogre trying to hit him with his fists, but missed again, and then the ogre just erupted. It screamed loudly as it sprayed blood around the room, hitting Eliandra, DaVinci, and Ash. DaVinci and Ash went down as they were covered in caustic acidic blood. Eliandra just vaporized, she disappeared. Ash struggled to sit up and he threw a healing spell onto Skald, getting him back up. I ran over to DaVinci and healed him with the medical kit. The iron maiden thinking Skald was still down turned to Ash and attacked him. Skald sat up and threw attacks at the iron maiden. I grabbed my next bomb, modifying it for a smaller blast radius, throwing it at the iron maiden and it finally fell.
"Someone is giggling in the next room," Alfred said.
