Chapter 14: More trolls?

General Summary

We stood there catching our breath and looking around when we heard from somewhere behind us, "Check on the guards."   DaVinci looked around and ran back towards where we came from. Alfred, Ash, and I headed back towards the next room and waited for the new people. I, at least, figured there was no way we could outrun them and it was better to try and ambush the new group.   Just after Al ducked behind the wall, a large ogre-like creature squeezed through the small tunnel at the back of the room.   "Be sure to get the loot. It's the treasure we've been promised." shouted a voice from behind us.   Al popped out from behind the wall and cast a spell on the ogre causing it to lose stumble back. DaVinci turned and shot him and he roared charging DaVinci.   A ghost dog charged out and attacked Ash before running past him. I tried to throw a holy bomb on the dog, and it took damage but not as much as I thought it would.   "Come out my lads, there's booty in these hills," yelled a troll leading a group towards us.   There was a swift exchange of blows, and the creatures hit us. Al threw a confusion spell toward the boss, and he started to hit his fellow bandit yelling, "Why you steal loot?"   "Why you hit me boss? See I'm hitting this guy?" He swung on Ash, but missed, and his boss hit him again.   "This is not looking good," I said and dropped a healing bomb on Ash, Al, and myself right before the dog came running back and bit Al again.   "They done something to the boss! We gotta stop him!" All of the bandits swarmed toward their boss and hit him, and as he seemed to wake up to what was going on.   "Get the mage! He's got some kind of evil magic that made me hit you!" He pointed at Al and they all started running towards Al.   A flurry of blows, a few more healing bombs, and three bandits went down, and we barely stayed up.   But we were up, and the bandits were ready to run. We stood trying to catch our breath as they ran away, holding us off.  Ash followed after them and caught sight of several more bandits readying their armor.   "Time to go," Ash said, and we regrouped, heading all the way back to town.

Back in town

I headed over to the herbalist and we worked together for the day, and I bought several healing potions from her.   DaVinci picked up more acid, he had used up his permanently killing one of the bandits in the last fight, and found some gloves to help me with climbing, since I'm so incredibly terrible at it.   Ash decided to finish off his soul collecting, and help the town at the same time and took care of some bandits, and scared a few into giving up banditry.
