Tiefling

Tieflings are the most powerful race in the kingdom, making up most of the nobility and the entire royal family. Blessed with arcane magic, many of them are born with sorcerous powers and some further supplement this with pacts to powerful beings for yet more powerful magic. It is said that all tieflings are descended from asmodeus himself, but certain families have more of his blood course through their veins. The Royal family are the purest of all the tieflings, their purity and fiendish blood signified by their regal purple skin.
Tieflings, at least the ones of noble blood, are incredibly proud people. There are many who will not lower themselves to even speak to one with lower blood. Some break the mold however, using their sorcerous power to take up a life of research or adventuring, or even a peaceful life in the frontier away from the reach of the kingdom. These tieflings are shunned by the society they were born into, and have their titles stripped from them with little chance to reclaim them outside of very very special circumstances.

Anatomy

Tieflings are humanoids, and as such have the same physical shape of humans and elves but with a few key differences. All Tieflings have large fiendish horns, a tail, and a large variety of skin colours. Many are a shade of red, but tieflings of royal blood are purple.
