History of Timeuria

Era of Primordials

... 2431

In the earliest epochs of Timeuria, the primordials, ancient and powerful beings embodying the raw forces of creation and destruction, reigned supreme. The realm was in a constant state of chaos, with the primordials shaping the land through their unrestrained power. Timeuria was a canvas of ever-shifting landscapes, where the whims of these beings dictated the course of existence.   As the primordials acquiesced to Astriel's influence and the establishment of the Great Accord, the Era of Primordials concluded. Some of these ancient beings accepted the new order, integrating into the cosmic balance, while others retreated to the fringes of existence. The once tumultuous and unpredictable landscapes of Timeuria began to stabilize, heralding the dawn of a new era.

    The Sundering of Terra'el
    Disaster / Destruction

In the days of the Era of Primordials, the vast and undivided landmass of Terra'el spanned the realm of Timeuria. However, the primordials, beings of unbridled chaos, engaged in a colossal clash that came to be known as the Sundering. Their tumultuous dance of raw elemental forces fractured the once-unified expanse of Terra'el into distinct continents, forever altering the landscape of the world.   As the primordials unleashed their uncontrollable powers, Terra'el convulsed beneath the cosmic strain. Mountains erupted, valleys formed, and oceans surged in response to the elemental chaos. The Sundering was a cataclysmic event that left an indelible mark on Timeuria, creating the diverse continents we know today. This fractured world would serve as the stage for the subsequent epochs, as the forces of balance sought to bring order to the aftermath of the primordial clash.

    Astriel's Intervention
    Celestial / Cosmic

Witnessing the ongoing turmoil, Astriel the All-Father, the overgod of Timeuria, decided to intervene. Channeling his immense divine power, Astriel sought to bring order to the chaos. He engaged with the primordials, negotiating and forging an understanding among these mighty entities. Through his divine influence, Astriel introduced the concept of balance, tempering the raw and uncontrollable energies that had dominated the realm.

Era of Balance

2432 12087

Astriel the All-Father established the Great Accord, a set of cosmic laws that governed the behavior of magic, nature, and other fundamental forces. As part of this accord he created the first pantheon. All of these newly born Gods were subject to this set of laws. With the pantheon in place, the Era of Balance flourished under the watchful eyes of these deities. Astriel's divine influence resonated through each member of the pantheon, ensuring they adhered to the principles of the Great Accord. Together, they worked harmoniously to maintain the cosmic balance in Timeuria.   The various races of Timeuria prospered, forming alliances and building great cities that stood as testament to the newfound balance in the world. As the Miracles Era approached, internal strife within the pantheon led to a weakening of the balance. Dissent among the deities, fueled by desires for greater power, gradually eroded the unity established by Astriel, setting the stage for the realmswar and the subsequent upheaval of Timeuria.

    The Great Accord
    Era beginning/end

As part of The Great Accord, Astriel the All-Father, in his divine wisdom, recognized the need for a group of powerful beings to steward the balance established in Timeuria. Thus, he personally created a group of beings to form the first pantheon. These divine beings were chosen for their affinity with the cosmic laws of the Great Accord and their commitment to maintaining balance in the world.

Miracles Era

12088 12572

This marks a time when the gods were particularly active in Timeuria. As the Era of Balance continued, a faction within the pantheon grew discontent. These dissidents sought greater autonomy and power, believing that the cosmic laws of the Great Accord restricted their true potential. Their actions triggered a gradual shift in the cosmic balance, leading to the weakening of the Era of Balance and the eventual emergence of the Miracles Era. The primordial forces, once held in check by the Great Accord, stirred with newfound vigor.   Unpredictable and miraculous events became increasingly common in Timeuria, defying the established laws that had governed the world for ages. Gods were in a race to gain more power in preparation for the events to come. Mortals were caught in the crossfire of divine conflicts, facing both blessings and curses as the pantheon's internal strife intensified. The era concluded with the realmswar, a conflict that left the pantheon in shambles, the dissenters imprisoned or slain. The Miracles Era's legacy lingered, leaving a scar on Timeuria that would shape the course of the subsequent Rebirth Era.

    Realmswar
    Extinction

The Realmswar unfolded as a massive, chaotic struggle that tore through the very fabric of existence. This colossal conflict transcended realms, engulfing Timeuria in a multi-dimensional maelstrom that claimed the lives of countless mortals, deities, devils, demons and dragons alike. Mortal nations were laid to waste, their cities reduced to ruins, and once-thriving civilizations left in smoldering remnants. The death toll was staggering, with countless souls lost to the relentless waves of war, magic, and the unleashed powers of deities and otherworldly entities.   The pantheon, once a unified force guiding the destinies of Timeuria, fractured into warring factions, each vying for supremacy. The Miracles Era, characterized by divine interventions and fantastical events, came to a brutal end as the dissidents sought power at the cost of cosmic balance. Mortals, survivors of the war-torn realms, found themselves adrift and bereft of the gods they once revered.   Countries, now reduced to desolation, faced the challenge of rebuilding amidst the ruins. Many mortals, having witnessed the destructive consequences of the Realmswar, sought new deities to fill the void left by the fallen or corrupted gods. This widespread search for divine guidance signaled a profound shift in the mortal perspective, as survivors sought solace, protection, and meaning in a world forever scarred by the echoes of war.

Rebirth Era

12572 and beyond

The Rebirth Era dawned upon Timeuria as the echoes of the devastating Realmswar slowly faded. The pantheon, once a united force governing the balance, lay shattered and in disarray. The aftermath of the Realmswar left the divine realm in chaos. Temples lay in ruins, celestial realms were fractured, and the remnants of the once-mighty pantheon struggled to regroup. The cosmic balance, disrupted by the ambitions of the dissenters, yearned to be restored.   Those deities who had rebelled against the Great Accord and sought to disrupt the Era of Balance were dealt with by the All-Father and the other Gods. Some were imprisoned in otherworldly realms, their divine powers restricted to prevent further mischief. Others faced divine justice and were stripped of their divine essence, their energies dispersed back into the fabric of Timeuria.   As the remnants of the old pantheon worked to rebuild, a phenomenon emerged—new gods were born. These deities embodied the evolving nature of Timeuria, each representing aspects that reflected the changes wrought by the Realmswar. The birth of these gods marked a turning point in the cosmic balance, signaling the potential for a renewed era.

In a collective effort led by the remaining members of the pantheon, these dissenters were subjected to divine justice.   The process involved a combination of imprisonment and, in some cases, divine retribution. The Betrayers were either sealed away in otherworldly realms, where their powers were constrained to prevent further havoc, or faced the consequences of their actions through a form of divine punishment.
