Elemental Regulation
Brief Overview
Elemental regulation is how the ratios of different elements, particularly the elements in a person's body, are regulated. While many elements are atypical to someone from a world outside of 'Time', it makes perfect sense to those who live there. In addition, there are a few uncategorized elements, and their states seem to change by race. There is a target range for where these ratios should be. These ratios are, grouped by race, listed below. The values are based on the lowest value element in humans, ice.
Lists of Elemental Ratios

Moth Person Elemental Ratios
Moth people, due to being smaller, generally have lower concentrations of elements in their bodies. Their species, however, tends to produce the most sorcerers.

Dragonblood Elemental Ratios
Dragonbloods, taking from their draconic heritage, have high concentrations of all elements. They tend to produce the least sorcerers but the most elementally deficient people.

Great Dragon Elemental Ratios
Only the Great Dragon of Joy has agreed to be tested, and her results are very inconclusive. In addition, since the Great Dragons all have very different abilities, their elemental ratios may differ drastically.

Additional Details About Elemental Ratios
Overabundance
Overabundance of a certain element other than time is a trait that, while present for the entire lifetime, is not usually shown until ages 10-20. The people with this trait are called 'sorcerers' and, before their staff appears to them, they tend to have magical outbursts that can be very dangerous. These are not fatal on their own, and the effects can be mitigated by simply using magic in a controlled way. The only real risk ran with being a sorcerer is the overarching dread of 'Snag'. This, however, usually does not occur due to the limited lifespan of mortals.
Underabundance
Underabundance of any element is very deadly. Effects are usually evident from the age of two or earlier. No person with an underabundance of an element has lived past the age of 12. Even lacking by a few points of an unidentified element can lead to major health issues. Cases of underabundance are rare, less so in Dragonbloods but most so in Moth People, but it is not unheard of. It is very difficult to figure out which element is underabundant, but people have been toying with the idea that sorcerers could share their elemental abundance with those who have an underabundance in order to lengthen their lives and improve their living quality. This would, in theory, balance the elemental levels for both parties.
Overabundance of Time
While an overabundance of most elements leads to the predictability of the afflicted becoming a sorcerer, time is very different in this aspect. While an underabundance of time would lead to rapid aging, an overabundance seems to have no effect. Sorcerers do not gain staffs or special powers for having an overabundance of time, and their aging process does not appear to be slowed down either. As such, many people have concluded that an overabundance of time either does not exist or has no effect in its entirety. A few people theorize that people with an overabundance of time are able to time travel or control their aging, but they do not recognize this either due to memory loss or seeing how they age in accordance with how society thinks they should, respectively.
