Soul Arms Backstory

As the Material Deity plucked a mortals soul, he fashioned it into something altogether unnatural.

Soul Arms were first created during The myth of the Uprising when the creature known as The Material Deity rewrote the words of fate and plucked the souls from all mortals on the material plane, reshaping them permanently into powerful magical artefacts that had the potential to kill even that which was immortal.
Whilst the Material Deity was executed for their deeds, the damage had been done and mortals were finally given a chance to fight back during the Uprising, they did not waste this opportunity and, after the actions of hero's like Viltis the other planes were locked out from the material and the world was left as a godless blank slate.
Soul Arms are the one major holdover and reminder of this time, for the Material Deity rewrote fate to create Soul Arms, and so, Soul Arms continued to manifest to the present day, on a child's 18th birthday.
Soul Arms were formerly cruel and decisive weapons in the war against the gods, but, as bloodlines mix and change and people become different so did the Soul Arms and now (with few exceptions) Soul Arms take on a form that is both a mixture of the personality of their wielder and a reflection on that wielders bloodline.
