Void Touched Transformation

"A scream rings out in the bustling city. The dead of night's ere silence was broken by the horrific sounds of murder and death as someone's life is viciously torn appart piece by piece. When help finally arrives, it's already too late, and both parents are killed. The mother is torn appart from the inside, and the father is laying in a pile of his own entrails. The only living creature in the room is the child curled up in the corner of the room. The child however, is covered in the vicera of their parents, and appears to be made of blackened bone and purple crystal in the shape of a mutated and otherwordly creature. Their eyes darkened voids, save for a solid ring of bright violet purple... And of course, that's how I was born. My father sacrificed my mother to make me the vassel of his new god. But he screwed up the ritual and instead I turned into a monster, but my soul remained mostly intact. Honestly I don't know why the guards didn't kill me then and there. I suppose I should thank my grandparents for choosing to raise me instead of execute me... Oh well. Now what can I get you?" -Natamara Pride Covengrove.

Becoming a Void Touched

There is only two ways of becoming void touched. A Patron must fill your body and soul with an incredible amount of void essence that completely changes your physical appearance, or you must complete a ritual that will cause the same outcome. It is not something to be taken lightly, and most will never survive the transformation.

Transformation Features

A Void Touched has the following transformation features:
Prerequisites
  • Ability Scores:Wisdom 13

Level Milestones

The following are examples of possible level milestones for the Void Touched:
  • Absorb the souls and power of other creatures.

  • Partake in blighted death and murder.
  • Be given more power from a Patron.

Transformation Level 1

Transformation Boon

Void Touched Form
Your Charisma score increases by 2 and your Intelligence score increases by 1. You become a Primordial in addition to any other creature types you are. Spells and abilities that affect Primordials of a specific CR have no effect on you.
Your appearance has greatly altered from its original features. Your skin is jet black and has the texture of bone. Your forearms, hands, knees, shins and feet are made of crystal. Your legs become digitigrade, and your feet are replaced by a crystal talon, with two claws in the front and one in the back. You grow a long slender tail that becomes crystal halfway down the length with crystal horns that grow from your head. Your eyes turn black save for the rings of color that glow with otherwordly magic. Almost skeletal wings grow from your back with crystal holding them together. The color of the crystal and your eyes are chosen by your Talent (See Below). You can maintain the form you had before you were transformed, but it is difficult to maintain. You may reveal your true form under the following conditions:
  • Concentrating on a spell.
  • Gaining the unconscious condition.
  • Choosing to reveal your true self.
In events of extreme emotional or physical stress, a GM may call for a Constitution saving throw with a DC of their choosing to see if you maintain your humanoid form. This form may also be hidden by using an alter self, diguise self or polymorph spell.

Transformation Boon

Void Talent
The power of the Void has transformed your body in unique ways. The void responds to your wants and desires and grants powers according to what the person craves. You may choose an element below to attune to. Keep in mind this element is permanent and only one element may be chosen for your transformation (Until later):

The crystal parts of your body have continued to mutate. They have hardened, and remain impossibly cool. From your knee down on your legs and your elbow down on your hands you are completely invulnerable to everything but Thunder damage, of which you still have a vulnerability to. However this does not transfer to the rest of your body. This means if there is a pool of acid that only reaches your shins, you can safely walk across it with out risk of death or harm. You may also reach into a source as long as it does not surpass your elbow.
As an added effect, you gain the Deflection Reaction. Where once per turn you can attempt to deflect any attack that is made with a physical weapon, like a sword or an arrow. You can speak to your DM about which magical spells you can deflect as well. You roll a 1d6 and subtract the number from their attack roll.

Transformation Boon

Crystal Armor
You manifest your void energy into your own body, growing crystals over your clothing and armor to granting you increased AC and an addtional boon based on your element, additionally the armor splinters when struck by a melee weapon, damaging the attacker. As an action you can summon this armor and roll 1d4 to add the number to your AC for 1 minute, when struck by a melee weapon, your armor cracks and the attacker takes 1d6 piercing damage, as well as an additional effect. You may use this ability an amount of times equal to your proficency bonus and you regain all uses after a long rest.
  • Wither: Purple crystal grows across your body and pulses with a decaying light. Enemies within 10 feet of you take 2d6 necrotic damage, and you heal by half the amount.

Transformation Boon

Wings

Transformation Flaw

Unknowable Presence
Your mind is begining to warp and twist as the power of the void seeps into you in more ways than physical ones. Downtime becomes your worst enemy as the whispers seep into your thoughts. When you are not focused on a specific task or entering a dungeon you begin to hear the whispers of otherwordly beings without form. When you attempt to rest, or relax you must make a Wisdom saving throw against your own Transformation DC. Failure prevents you from being able to use hit dice on a short rest, or sleeping on a long rest, granting you a point of exhaustion.

Transformation Level 3

Starting at 3rd level, you can pick one of the following Transformation Boons, or pick a boon from a lower level that you meet the prerequisites for. You also gain this level’s Transformation Flaw.

Transformation Boon

Shatter
You have learned to control the void energy so well that you can create a wave of jagged crystals that spread across an area in front of you. As an action, you slam your foot into the ground and launch a wave of crystal in a 15ft cone in front of you. This crystal remains for 10 minutes, or until it is dispelled as a bonus action. Creatures in the cone when it appears take 1d10 piercing damage as the shards cut through them, and it is considered rough terrain. Creatures that move through it take 1d6 piercing damage for every 5 feet of movement within the cone. You may use this ability an amount of times equal to your proficency bonus and you regain all uses after a long rest. An additional effect is added based on your element type:
  • Wither: Purple crystals shoots up from the ground and enemies struck by the initial blast take an additional 1d10 necrotic damage, and you are healed by half the amount of necrotic damage.
  • Radiance: Gold crystals shoots up from the ground and enemies struck by the initial blast take an additional 1d10 radiant damage, and are baned for 1 round.
