Voreador, god of war

As the Elemental Lord and Lady of Fire and Water quarreled and bickered, their conflict started to agitate the divine material with which they worked. The more they fought, the more this material absorbed their anger and conflict, and eventually, it started to feed upon it; in a spectacular blast of divine spark, Voreador and Sirise sprung forth, giving form and sentience to their rivalry, but each representing a different side of conflict. Voreador became the god of war, and wherever he walks, strife and woe follow, while his sister Sirise became the goddess of strategy and honorable combat. The two of them immediately began fighting, an eternal war that will never end, as neither brother nor sister can accept the other’s views on battle.   Voreador created the hobgoblin race, cutting them from rough iron salvaged from the divine battlefield, and instilling them with their warlike nature.   Religion and Dogma: Voreador is only interested in waging war, thus his followers are charged with spreading strife and stoking conflict across Thyr. Some wars that have broken out over Thyr’s history can trace their beginnings to a priest of the Strifebringer instigating the conflict; morally bankrupt, these priests strive to kindle the flames of war into a bonfire.   Despite his tendency to stoke conflict, temples to the Strifebringer can be found in most major cities, although they are not grand buildings; they are usually utilitarian structures where mercenaries and others train or bunk while they wait for work. These temples are usually built out of iron and stone, and can serve as a bunker or operations base. Soldiers will often attend these temples before they go off to war and beseech the god of war to look well upon them in the coming battle, and give them the skill they need to strike down their enemies.   Priests of the Father of Woe typically appear as though they are prepared to enter battle at any moment, wearing their full armor and carrying their weapons at their side. Voreador’s symbol is a gauntleted fist dripping blood, most often crafted of iron or steel.   In hobgoblin culture, Voreador is known as Gargabol, and according to them, that is his true name, not the mouthful of gargled syllables other races call him. In every hobgoblin city-state, war camp, and slave warren there is a temple to the Bloody Hand, constructed of iron and stone, proudly bearing the symbol of their god; here the hobgoblins pay their respects and confer with the war priests on their next battle. War priests are held in high regard; every leader of an army of hobgoblins is advised by a war priest, and when the time to fight comes, they serve wherever they are needed, especially relishing fighting at the head of a legionary column.   Appearance: Voreador appears as a tall and muscular man clad in ruddy, thick, and aged full plate armor. His head is clad in a visored helmet, and his eyes can be seen as red burning orbs from within the slots of the visor; his voice emanates from deep within, sounding like steel grinding on steel. He carries whatever weapon is at hand, and his freehand is always bloody.
