Pleione, goddess of the stars

Pleione was the last of the celestial deities. Mastagos the dragon collected shards of primordial clay on his journeys and presented them to his beloved, Celina. Their love caused the shards to glow, then to sparkle. The shards coalesced into Pleione, the goddess of the stars. Her purpose was to keep Celina company and to guard the night sky while the Lady of the Moon was away.   She became the much loved and cherished, though mischievous, little sister to Ashtar and Celina. Her beauty was so rare that she even caught the attention of Zohronox, who in his misguided affections abducted the young goddess. Her capture was the catalyst for the one time in Thyrian history when Ashtar and Celina both shined at the same time. This brightness blinded the god of darkness long enough for Pleione to escape unharmed. The stars twinkle at night because Pleione is winking at the Darkness and his failed attempt to capture her.   Pleione is also nominally considered to be the goddess of cats, as she is always accompanied by her cat, Luminae, a celestial feline with a luxurious coat that is a deep bluish-black, a long, sleek tail, deep amber eyes, and a pink nose. Sometimes his coat sparkles, as if he has starlight trapped within.   Religion and Dogma: Clerics of Pleione are generally playful, irreverent, and mischievous, behavior in kind with that of the goddess they serve. Religious sites to Pleione are generally found away from urban centers lest the full scope of her splendor be lost. Most sites are host to a colony of cats, as the Pleionians consider them sacred animals.   Pleionian religious ceremonies do not remotely resemble most other religious rites; rites are opened with joyful dancing. Their hallmark is their complete and total lack of order; there is no discernible structure to their services. Generally, they descend into drunken revelry and flirtatious cavorting.   Her holy symbol is a seven-pointed star.   Appearance: Pleione usually appears as a pale skinned, curvy woman of ample proportions, with eyes that twinkle like the stars she represents, wearing a gossamer gown that is sheer enough to behold her shape. Her hair is black, long, and filled with stars; it seems to float behind her constantly, never settling on her shoulders. Luminae is typically standing on her shoulders or sinuously slinking between her legs.
