Nephele, goddess of air

Nephele was plucked with her sister and brothers from the chaos by the Three and Xassalt. It became immediately apparent that she was the Lady of Air due to her flighty nature, as when she was born, she tried desperately to slip through the fingers of Xassalt and the Three Brothers.   She might have escaped entirely except that she found it was in her nature to have a rather heated and combative relationship with her brother the Lord of Fire. She found that she enjoyed this sparring too much to leave. She is prone to having great changes in her moods. Sometimes she is found to be gentle, other times her tantrums can be both impressive and destructive. She is granted dominion over wind, sky, and weather. She is frequently aided in meteorological events by her sister the Lady of Water.   Religion and Dogma: Clerics of the Lady of Air are not known for their ability to stay focused on any given task. It is not unusual to see one wander off during the middle of devotions. They are generally as mercurial in temperament as the Lady they serve. As such, no temple of the Lady of Air resembles another. Sometimes they have signs of incomplete restorations, construction, or other sundry tasks about their places of worship.   Nephele's clerics wear diaphanous robes of blue the color of the sky. Her holy symbol is wind, artistically represented by silver swirls on a blue background. Sailors, those who live near the sea, many merchants, and sentient flying creatures are found among her devoted.   Sailors and merchants pay tribute to the Lady of Air before ships set sail requesting good swift winds and fair weather. Those who live near the sea offer devotions to keep her less nurturing aspects at bay. They seek good weather and try desperately to keep this highly moody goddess placated.   Appearance: The Lady of Air always appears as a beautiful young woman with white wind blown hair. Her expression varies depending on her mood. She can either appear playful or entirely frightening. She generally appears in the race or ethnicity of the individual who views her, but not always.
