Ashtar, god of the sun

The eldest of the celestial deities, Ashtar was sculpted to keep the darkness at bay. He took his place in the sky watching over Thyr. He provided the light needed for plants to grow and helped Kundis mark the passing of days, months, and years. He is known for his warm, jovial personality. He quickly became one of the most loved of the gods due to his friendly and kind nature; he can at times become a bit prone to bravado and brashness, but it is always borne from his conviviality. He is fiercely protective of his sisters, the Ladies of the Moon and Stars respectively, and of Thyra, with whom he has had a romantic relationship for as long as anyone, god or mortal, can remember. He is a close ally of the three brothers as he, like them, is staunchly opposed to the undead due to the intrinsic animosity between him and Zohronox.   Religion and Dogma Clerics of Ashtar are stalwart and righteous, and they are known for being outspoken regarding the beliefs they hold dear. The churches of Ashtar are easily identifiable by their tall white marble spires, and a feature in the ceiling that allows the sunlight to shine in and reflect off of mirrors or discs of polished bronze or gold. Gold and bronze feature prominently in temple construction. The dark elves are known for building beautiful temples of sandstone and glass, accented with gold and bronze, with a polished mirror that reflects the sun’s light into the center of the temple at all times. High holy day is the summer solstice.   His holy symbol is the sun encircled by a crown, most often emblazoned on a disk of polished bronze, although his high priests will sometimes have it made of gold.   Appearance: Ashtar appears as a muscular, broad-chested man with neck-length blond hair, eyes of burnished bronze that shine brightly, and a crown upon his brow. He wears bronze armor and wields a spear of the same material.
