Epic Path: The Outsider

You are a mortal who has found another way to ride on the backs of dragons. Through years of hard labor and experience, you have learned how to not only befriend dragons, but ride on the back of them. You are known as a Dragon Rider, a title you found fit for yourself, however, others do not understand this and often look at you in confusion at such a foreign concept.
During the great battle of the First War, you fell from your dragon, unaware of what had happened and not being able to find your dragon anywhere. You realize you're in a damp cave in the arms of a beautiful nymph named Versi who has kept you alive for over 500 years and has taken great interest in you, given that you bonded with a dragon - not through an oath - but through friendship. You don't know what has come of your mother or father, if they're even alive.
