Wormholes

A rip in the fabric of space, which connects two locations. The portals can only materialise when both 'ends' of the portal are submerged in water, which means that there are many more 'potential' portal sites than will ever actually exist. There are only two known portal sites - one inside the Annasierra Asteroid Field, and the other deep within the forests of Sanif. Portals are hard to track, but there are things that can give them away. For example, electromagnetic waves can pass through portals - however, as these signals cant pass easily through water, they are heavily weakened.
