Fecal Mages

When our parents asked us what we wanted to be when we grew up the vast majority of us would never in a million years reply with “fecal mage”, and yet that is exactly how at least some mages who join the College of Biogenesis replied when asked.
A fecal mage, also called poop magicians or shit wizards, are members of the College of Biogenesis who have dedicated their careers toward solving problems relating to the massive quantity of fecal material produced every day by the massive menagerie of magically created creatures made by the college. It is a problem that has plagued the college since its inception. At first merely being related to mundane stable hands, but as the college grew the workload became larger and larger until a normal workforce of feces relocation specialists became untenable. And thus did a new career path open up.
Fecal mages primarily focus on the magical science revolving around biological waste. Chiefly in what to do with it. Like other biogenesists they spend much of their time conjuring new living creatures that are specifically designed to remove waste or transport it to where it could be more useful. Many new organisms have been painstakingly crafted to fulfill these duties including the stool beetles and dung krakens that are ubiquitous in all Biogenesis bathrooms and stables.
Sometimes the quantity exceeds what can realistically be done with just the labor of creations and so it falls on the fecal mages to use their magic to move vast quantities of waste from one location to another using simple levitation spells.
Another aspect of the fecal mage’s research is in the creation of higher quality waste. Waste makes good fertilizer and since a large part of the College of Biogenesis’ role is the creation of new plant life more potent fertilizer is always in high demand. For this reason many dedicate large chunks of their career designing unique digestive tracts specifically to ensure creations produce more efficient fertilizer in larger quantities. Many a creation template has been modified and enhanced thanks to the tireless efforts of the fecal mages, not that anyone but them truly appreciates the value of efficient nutrient to waste ratios in the digestive systems of the animals they eat.
