Village of Elton
The Village of Elton is a small community of farmers and fisherman on lands owned and maintained by Briar Jon Fenward of the Briary of Marlowe. It has a population of just over 80 souls, 40 of which are Halflings that have settled here to develop a viable eel farm in the fens and bogs of Marlowe.
Demographics
83 souls call Elton home, and 40 of them are Halflings. Most work the several farms and ponds that surround the village and live in homes located along Elton's single street.
Industry & Trade
The Village is centered around the new method of raising eels in purpose-built ponds. The wild caught fish are allowed to spawn in the streams and ponds of the farms and the fish then return to the ponds every year to begin the cycle anew.
Ancillary industries such as peat harvesting, cattle and sheep farming, fishing and rope making are also being developed.
Infrastructure
The village is still being rebuilt. Abandoned after the The Second Great Orc War in 146 AF, most of the homes were totally destroyed and the ruins that remained were little more than piles of bricks and stones. From these remains new homes and buildings have been constructed and the village is rapidly taking shape.
