Ektromas
Ektromas
Ektromas is a very large and extremely deadly Forest Dragon currently residing within the fringes of the Necropolis of Teboba, specifically near the Dragon Keep ruins. Ektromas is a male drake of unknown age, but is known to have been living very near the Dragon Keep location for more than 200 years.
Ektromas claims to be the same drake that attacked and destroyed the Keep just after it was built in 18 AF by a lord appointed by King Benn Ohn of Imesse to pacify and settle the Teboba region. The very few accounts given after the attack state that the dragon that devestated the Keep was a mature Forest Drake of unnatural cunning and ferocity, and that repeatedly gave its name as Ektromas, which is a derivative of a Gnomish word for abhorrent or freakish. At the time of the attack, it was estimated to have a length of more than 30' and to weigh as much as 3,000 lbs. The most recent description of the beast currently living and hunting near the Dragon Keep has its length as 55' and its weight (at a minimum) at 6,500 lbs. If this creature really is the same beast that sacked and killed the entire Keep's garrison 217 years earlier, then Ektromas is the oldest (and thus the largest) living Forest Dragon known in a thousand miles.
Physical Description
General Physical Condition
Nearly 60' from nose to the tip of tail and massively built. Broad chest, thick strong legs, a thick muscular tail more than 1/3 its body length. Seemingly able to move incredibly fast, at least in short bursts.

Long pointed black antlers on the crest of its head and sharp spines running down the length of its spine. Its eyes are a bright yellow and its teeth and fangs are bright white.
Special abilities
If the stories and accounts of past encounters are correct, Ektromas enjoys hearing itself talk. Numerous accounts state that the beast talks almost nonstop while attacking its victims and seems fond of repeating its name to those it is attacking. It has also been reported numerous times that, along with the ability to spew its toxic stomach acid as far as 30' feet, the creature can also expel a cloud of stinking breath that is so foul it has overpowered and overwhelmed hardened fighters instantly.

Personal history
First reported and described by the 11 survivors of the attack and destruction of the newly-completed square Keep constructed at the edge of the ruined city of Necropolis, Ektromas killed more than forty well armed and highly trained knights and men-at-arms in less than four days and nights, then destroyed the fortress leaving only a few sections of the defenses standing as a portion of its lair. Since that time, hundreds of reports have been made concerning the presence of a large and ferocious drake living and hunting at or near the ruined Keep.
Ektromas does not seem inclined to stray far from its established territory near the Keep. Most reports of encounters with the drake all happen within just a few miles of the ruins, in all directions except further into the ruined city of Necropolis itself. The most recent description of the beast was made in 194 AF (39 years before today) by a party of adventurers making their way towards the Necropolis from the southeast. The party was going towards the Dragon Keep hoping to use the ruins of the Keep as a waypoint in their journey, but were surprised by a group of four wandering Hill Giant males. Crawling under a fallen section of stone wall, they seemed to have avoided the notice of the giants but were able to watch from their hiding spot as all four of the massive giants were attacked, killed and then partially consumed by what they described as the largest drake any had ever heard of. Once the dragon had dragged away the carcass of the last giant up the slope towards the Dragon Keep, the hidden adventurers fled the scene and made their way to the headwaters of the Stone River and on to civillization.
Wealth & Financial state
Ektromas has a massive hoard hidden in a partially collapsed stone barn just 500 yards from the Dragon Keep. Like all Forest Dragons, Ektromas sees anything gained through attack or combat as a "prize" to be kept and treasured, regardless of the actual value of the item gained. The beast has a collection of items gained through his centuries of hunting and gathering loot that weighs more than 11 tons, but much of it is actually worthless trash. Of the more than 20,000 pounds of "treasure" within its hoard, there is 180 lbs of gold bullion, 300 lbs of silver bullion, and just more than 600 lbs of weapons and armor ranging in value from priceless to near worthless.
The most valuable thing that Ektromas has, however, is its Dragonb Oil. Given the beast's immense age (and thus, its size), the estimated quantity and potency of its oil makes it more valuable than the entire hoard by a factor of ten.
