Lord Edbert Staton
Edbert Staton is the current Lord Chamberlain of Lesser Imesse and a member of an ancient noble family of the Kingdom of Lesser Imesse. He is the son of the first Lord Chamberlain, Edgar Staton, who was appointed by the former King, Mak I and retained by the current King, Mak II until Edgar's death ten years ago.
Edbert is a quiet, humble man that does not flaunt or display his rank or station needlessly. He has a preferrence for plain, utilitarian clothing and is studious and methodical in his efforts to complete his duties. He lives in a small suit of apartments in the Royal Castle, alone but for his large mastiff, Sunshine.

Descended from a very old and storied noble family that has ties to the Royal House of Maxalli that go back more than a century, Edbert never married and has no close living relatives... except for Sunshine.
Hobbies & Pets
Edbert keeps a large female mastiff as a companion in his apartments. The mastiff, named Sunshine, as an amazingly smart animal and is utterly devoted to Edbert. Apart from personal servants and a cook, very few visitors to Edbert's apartments are tolerated by Sunshine who is very particular about who is allowed close to her master. One particularly memorable event associated with Edbert and Sunshine occured while the pair were walking from the Castle to Bitterwash Row. As they approached the Castle Gate near the Briar's Keep, they were accosted by a thief with a length of chain for a weapon. Edbert warned the brigand to walk away quietly several times, but the thief would not stop demanding Edbert's purse. Finally, with several locals watching from a distance, Edbert snapped his fingers and Sunshine rushed the thief like a charging bull. In less time than it takes to draw a deep breath the 170 lb hound hit the brigand at a full run and tore his arm off at the elbow. The pair then continued to the river so Edbert could wash the blood off his companion's muzzle.
