Dolus (doe-lus)
Dolus is the Gnomish god of deceit, lies and treachery. He is the embodiment of untruth and is the source of all that is evil in the eyes of Gnomes everywhere. He is depicted as a repulsively ugly being with flaming horns and twisted useless legs that have no feet but instead end in rotted and malformed stumps. Since he has no feet, he floats through the air with a speed that cannot be matched by mortal animals. This is to represent the speed with which lies and deceit move through the world, never moving at a measured pace but always flying magical speeds.
Dolus is also said to have three eyes, two to see the world as it is and a third to see into the hearts of mortals so that the lies he tells are always the most hurtful and painful that can be uttered. Dolus is not a deity that Gnomes worship, but an entity that is feared and avoided at all costs to sou and sanity.
