The Arcane Consulate

A vast and massive mansion with a much more political purpose, the Arcane Consulate is a building in the capital city of Magi. Once a week, the dukes and duchesses of the country of Arcane must meet and deliberate in the Consulate about the matters of the court and country. Many duchies have their children legitimized in ceremony here or coronated as their heir in an official ceremony.
The walls of the enormous estate tower over the trees and have a deep moat flowing around them. The security of the Consulate is top notch in the instance that espionage may slip in between the cracks. Guards are on constant duty in and around the Consulate, and even they are sanctioned to impassive background checks to ensure the safety of state.

Purpose / Function

The purpose of the consulate is to provide a safe and secure place for the vassals of the monarch to come and deliberate. It is highly protected and thus gives a great sense of security to the nobles who visit there. The Consulate is of course used for manners outside of the political spectrum, such as coronations and ordainments, while also functioning as a state library, holding the most historic and important articles to Arcane.

Architecture

The Consulate is a large and brightly stained castle with grands windows full of stained glass depicting images of the greatest kings, queens, and monarchs of Arcane' history. Displays of great heroism paint the walls and ceilings in murals and various hidden traps litter the grounds. The consulate has thick magic proof walls and floors, soundproof to the extreme, and with attuned magical entrances, identifying the members by a specific token.
