Anatomy

They are horses with the wings of eagles. They are somewhat larger than regular Horse s.

Dietary Needs and Habits

They eat like horses and are usually fed by their caretakers.

Behaviour

They are generally kind to Humans, unless the human has been cruel to them in which case they can be vengeful creatures.

Additional Information

Uses, Products & Exploitation

They are used to transport Humans and to pull flying carriages. The herd at the Thornfield Castle estate is used to pull carriages to transport students from the train station to the castle.

Geographic Origin and Distribution

They can be found in the wild around the Mediterranean but domesticated pegasi can be found around the world including a large herd in the forests on the estate of Thornfield Castle.

Average Intelligence

They are quite clever creatures but because they cannot speak any human languages they are not seen as sentiant creatures by the magical Humans.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities

They can see and hear almost everything around them. 
They can feel souls which allows them to sense whether people are good or bad.

Civilization and Culture

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions

Humans - They are good friends with kind humans who look after them. They do not mind captivity as long as they are well taken care of. 
Clann Mori - They scare the Pegasi as they appear human but do not feel like humans in spirit.

Conservation Status

They are extremely rare in the wild and can only be found in the a few locations around the Mediterranean. In captivity there are many herds across the world.
