Harthwell House
Purpose / Function
This is the building where the Magic Government and its subsidary departments are based. It includes the offices for the various departments, the debating chambers for parliament, and the courts which deal solely with breaches of magical law.
Alterations
The original Georgian building has been expanded in every direction to accomadate an ever increasing number of departments.
Also added was the underground connection between this complex and Downing Street which is used by the First Minister of Magic to facilitate easier meetings with the Prime Minister.

Architecture
It is a Georgian building originally and still has that facade. The numerous extensions added over the years are designed to blend in with this but slight variations can be found if you look close enough which makes visiting even more interesting for those who enjoy looking at architecture.
Defenses
The true nature of the building is hidden by protective spells. This means that anyone walking past would see just another large building in London, both full of history and not worth notice at the same time.
History
The building was given to the Magic Government as a gift by George III early in his reign, before that it was a manor house.
Tourism
Tourists from all over the magical world come to take photos outside the building or possibly take a tour of the public rooms but these are limited in availability so pre-booking is essential.
