The deities found the Fae

People call it the creation of Fae, but really it was the finding of them. The deities realised that the material plane was not the only plane out there. It was just the centre of what we know to be the inner planes. The deities created the elemental planes but the Feywild and Shadowfell, the reflections of the material plane, were already there, along with the prime plane they were living on.   Nuara, felt a connection to the plane but had no control over the magic there. It was wild and untamed, so she called it The Green.
