One portion of our party was sent on a routine investigation into a missing person in the village of Kenby. On the way there they met the enigmatic Marle, and in Kenby they discovered and destroyed a cult that had been using village folks to turn into ghouls.

This orcish cult was being aided by the local sheriff. His entire existence was erased mysteriously, perhaps by Marle's magic somehow, after being assassinated by Jack Summit.   This cult was using a black sword they had in their possession to transform villagers into monsters.   The investigators brought the blade back to Crossroads to consult the CIC.
