Thilveon

The world of Thilveon is both very young, and quite old, at the same time. This contradiction stems from the nature of its occupants, who for a large part of their existence were quite sedentary and un-adventurous. One could argue that this started with the High Elves of Yllanora, who whilst being the oldest civilisation of Thilveon, are also the least travelled. It is only in the last 800 years that different races have ventured beyond their point of origin and as such much of the world is unexplored. For all the people of Astrakane (one of the most multicultural continents of Thilveon) know, there are only four other populated lands in existence (see The Known Lands and Islands of Thilveon). It is very possible that many other lands and cultures exist; a theory supported by the occasional occurrences of strange creatures and items. However, only a few brave pioneers have ventured out to seek them. To this day none have returned. The nations that are known to each other have some trade links, but mass inter-continental travel is uncommon.
