Lannercoast is located on the Western coastline along a temperate seashore, where the vegetation is thick. The city grew around a coastal harbor, and is comprised of a wide variety of peoples. The people worships many deities, none having a clear majority at all.
The nearest landmark is the Moonbright Glades, just south of the city, where a large oak tree resides within the Glade. The tree is swarming with beautiful blue butterflies in the morning, and blue fireflies at night.
Economics
Trade in Lannercoast is bustling, but organised, with some taxes applied to goods and services rendered in the city. People live a modest existence because of it. Welfare is above average, considering the modest quality of life. Citizens can expect a decent education, provided they can pay for it. Healthcare is overtaxed and underfunded, though.
Law and Order
The policing presence in Lannercoast is split. Regiments of Cinder Cloaks are often posted in the city and to make up the numbers the city employs a militia. Some of the members of the militia, The Unbreakable Officers, are part time, and there is little need for the use of force outside of intruders. Law in Lannercoast is punitive based, and those that breach the laws can expect hard labor, incarceration, fines, or, in some instances, public execution. Crime is an ugly stain on humanity, to be removed wherever possible. Magic is not codified into the laws, though the local guards would be more likely to treat it as a threat rather than not.
