Manannán mac Lir

Manannán mac Lir's origin is a mystery to both the mortals and the gods. He only came into existence long after the creator gods had created the universe and came into existence out of nothingness. As he didn't create the world he generally isn't considered to be a creator god but his origin, immense power and ability to ignore natural laws as he pleases certainly put him in the same league.
Manannán mac Lir is best known for his sovereignty over the salty waters but he is also the one who granted the other non-creator gods their immortality by letting them eat a boar that would revive after being killed. He also provided many of the other gods with their magic equipment, who nows where he got those, and was a co-foster parent for Lugh, the god of justice, with Gavida, the god of smithing.
In stories, the god of the sea is almost always a passive party who provides support from the sidelines and rarely takes on confrontation head-on.
