Ceridwen
Ceridwen (a.k.a. White sorcerres)
Ceridwen is the creator goddess of inspiration, knowledge and science. She's the one who gave intelligence to all living things and created other ways than magic to accomplish great feats. Of all the ancient creator gods she is perhaps the most human in how she sees the world and how she expresses emotion.
"So she resolved, according to the arts of the books of the Fferyllt, to boil a cauldron of Inspiration and Science for her son, that his reception might be honourable because of his knowledge of the mysteries of the future state of the world."
-The Mabinogi, trans.Lady Charlotte Guest

Family Ties
Ceridwen had two children with Tacitus the Bald, a powerful leader and great magician. They had a beautiful daughter named Creirwy and a hideously deformed son named Morfran Afaggdu whose skin was burned and mind warped. Ceridwen was very worried for this son and in the process of trying to give him Awen to ensure his future accidentally became the mother of a second son who was named Taliesin, a powerful bard and druid.
