UAC Weapons

Category of organisms engineered by the Harkas to perform a similar role as small arms fire weapons of other species.

UAC weapons are a category of species that can vary in size significantly. Some are designed to be used by the largest Harkas in existence, such as those that grow to 30 m. They can be equipped with anything from small, pistol-like creatures to large rifles or rocket launching entities, the latter filling a lightweight, anti light bioship role. The smallest Harkas such as Jyarans have their own versions of these, but might have trouble harming the largest individuals of their own species due to the sheer mass difference. When not In use, the weapons can enter a dormant state, essentially falling asleep and using very little energy. Instead of ammunition and energy, they require pellets of food that have already been broken down into a digestible state. The UAC also has other organisms that are designed to provide this to the weapons. They also require safety from pathogenic microbes, so they also have their own immune systems and microbiome. They will grow their own ammunition.

In space, the main limiting factor of range is the distance at which one can see their target. As such, many weapons come equipped with a way to zoom in on an area of space using advanced optics. Later as biotechnology advanced, they became able to detect other signatures like using radar-like organs or those capable of infrared vision. The Harkas would often have relatively large heat and RCS signatures depending on which way their radiators faced and if they were retracted. One common strategy to avoid detection was to keep the radiators retracted. This would often increase the person's temperature to unsafe levels, so Outerworldians could utilise this much better than Innerworldians.

UAC weapons are almost always grown manually by the harkas and unable to reproduce on their own.
