Larjarak Crystal

Crystals that can be found and mined on Mauray. Although they are not commonly found, they are worth a lot and miners that find it usually make a significant profit.
They are used for automating magic spells. 
Although some factions dont fully understand how these crystals work, others have managed to develop a form of technology that works using magic. This is called magitech.
Species with stronger magic attunement can utilise the crystals better, as can those that understand the properties of the crystal better. This has created a sort of branch of science for these crystals in attempt to use them better.
The crystals have limited mana, but this can be improved with more intricately laid layers. They are purple in colour and pulses of light can be seen 1-2 times every second. They are also quite strong and require powerful yet delicate machinery to make anything useful. They can be used to make vehicles that otherwise wouldnt work with such a low tech level, such as tanks or powered bikes. Others have made missiles with it.
Mana is made in intricate layers of the material where increased surface area is the main factor increasing mana regeneration. It must then be moved to a mana storage, via cables similar to fibre optic cables. A storage is comprised of specific patterns of crystal etched onto a different material, such as a wood. This then must be sent to a crystalline caster, a small device that casts the spell. More intricate patterns are inserted into the caster on a tablet, and then the magic is casted according to the code written in the patterns as long as there is enough mana in the storage unit. Unlike people manually casting a spell, this crystal cannot cast at all if it lacks mana.
