FTL Interdiction

An FTL interdictor is a technology designed to prevent a target starship from being able to achieve superluminal velocity. This requires highly advanced, specialised technology and a lot of energy, and even then it would only block one type of FTL drive. Each interdictor needs to be designed specifically to counter different factions because every major faction has different types of FTL drives.

Some factions design FTL interdiction starships as quite modular, able to swap out the jammer for other jammers if need be. This allows them to fight any faction, with some preparation. In hyperionite starships, this can be achieved by changing the techprint. As a general rule of thumb, larger ships can produce more power, so huge ships like super titans might be able to easily overwhelm a smaller interdictor. A massive interdictor, if designed to jam then correct FTL drive, would easily stop a smaller ship from warping away.
