Erranagol

Erranagol is a belt nation of the Zar Belt (the midworldian belt system of the Beta Targos System).

The local life around this region is unique in that silicon based lifeforms can be observed. This contrasts significantly with other regions, which mostly rely on carbon. The Erranagol region has a lot of asteroids with a high silicon content. Although the ecosystem is mostly of carbon based life, silicon makes a significant amount of biomass of the area. This has led to some creatures being comprised of both carbon and silicon as they have evolved to eat both. 

Erranagol is thus the location of a lot of scientific speculation and theory crafting. It is well known that such silicon asteroids are quite rare in other locations, so many scientific theories have been made in attempts to explain why Erranagol has such a high concentration. Perhaps a planetoid was destroyed there, perhaps the system was engineered, or at least this region. 

The people of this region are quite unique in what they eat, because some of them eat silicon based life. This makes it impossible for other harkas to eat partially - silicon Harkas, and also makes it harder for enemies to take supplies from Erranagolan areas. 

Despite its exotic nature, Erranagol has a stable ecosystem that is not interfered with much by the Harkas bioships or farms. Some bioships for some nations pre-HF first contact would have digestive systems and require food, and the Erranagol nation kept its bioships under control very well. The people of this nation are also known to be slightly ahead of their time with bioengineering, although not by a massive amount and they remain above average 'technologically'. They have adopted a wide range of weapons for their military, such as railguns and lasers, and even developed a unique form of shield generator. This has been used in their propaganda many times.
