Cluster Stellar Conundrum

An unsolved question of astronomy.

The Cluster Stellar Conundrum posits that the various galaxies of the Fortrais Galaxy Cluster seem to be much larger than those elsewhere. There can be more than 10 000x more stars in a Fortrais galaxy than the next largest known galaxy. As such, the mass of Fortrais is over 1 million times that of the next largest galaxy cluster known as it contains so many of these galaxies. The reason or this is unknown, especially given that the cosmic microwave background (CMB) radiation "map" of the universe shows that the Fortrais cluster should be a regular galaxy cluster.

Several theories have been made in attempts to fix this problem, including the accepted theory where many galaxy clusters have collided with Fortrais, in a specific way causing it to expand massively to its current size. Even this theory has a number of teething problems, as most Fortrais galaxies are quite stable and 'healthy'.

Some other theories posit that the Fortrais cluster was constructed or built by another extremely advanced civilization. Even the precursor factions never became that powerful, implying there is something else out there that is far more powerful than the precursors. This theory isnt accepted because no artifacts have been found from such a civilization - and there is little known reason why they would perform such an undertaking in the first place. Engineering a galaxy cluster is probably a massive project.

What no one knows - not even the precursors - is that the galaxy cluster was indeed engineered. It was the greatest project of the ancient Universalists who existed shortly after the big bang - and needed a massive, central energy source. This was the Fortrais cluster.
