Domiriyaki

I know what you're thinking, "we know to stay away from clouds", but I'm serious. If you see one like that, go as far as you can.

Cloud patches very rarely go above the foggy surface. Save for the Everlasting Storm, none stays around for a long time, either dispersed by the dry air or driven away by the wind. But some are more resilient than most, small, storm-brewing clouds of bad omen. Those are the home of the Domiriyaki.

Apex Predator

The Domiriyaki is a killing machine perfected by evolution. It has a slithering body, three sets of strong wings and a jawless mouth clad with curved teeth. Contrary to most other sky-dwelling predators, it does not possess limbs able to catch its preys. Instead, he uses his nineteen set of teeth to clutch to the unfortunate victim, coiling its scaly body around their neck to suffocate it. Then, its sharp tongue dig its way inside the flesh until it finds an access to the blood stream, and exsanguinate the prey as its meal.

As they are already living inside a cloud just as toxic as the sea is, they do not fear freefalling as much. Thus, they can attack mid-air without worrying about their victim fainting or even dying while they are feasting, it even makes the task easier. With their strong wings, they have no issue making it back to the surface, even in the thick and caustic clouds.

Shock

Domiriyaki only strangle small preys, as they lack the strength to cut the breathing of heavier creatures. To make up for it, they can store the lightning when they get struck, keeping the energy inside their bodies in dedicated cells before unleashing it all at once on simple contact. The raw energy of one lightning is enough to electrocute most of their preys, which will then offer no resistance as their blood is drunk in one go.
