Tholos of the Pantheon

OVERVIEW

The Tholos of the Pantheon is the temple to all the gods and here are found representations of all of them, except Klothys, whose respect is usually shown without specific worship or representations of any kind. The sculptures of the gods are distributed inside within large chapels in a circle around a central sculpture of Kruphix, with his open arms facing the door. A representation of Athreos is engraved on each door as the god of transits. Facing each other to the east and west are Heliod and Erebos, while the other gods share the rest of the other twelve niches. The floor and the dome are decorated with braided hair as the only reminder of Klothys and the destiny that moves us all. The chapels keep offerings from the citizens, and the priestesses of the Pantheon are in charge of the care of the images and the order in the Temple.

Location Description

Outside

The Tholos of the Pantheon, a temple dedicated to all the gods, stands with an aura of solemn reverence. Its rounded structure is impressive, with an air of ancient wisdom and universal respect. The sight of the temple, bathed in natural light, emanates a sense of tranquility and balance. The gentle sound of murmured prayers and footsteps on stone fills the air, blending with the subtle scent of incense. Inside

Inside the Tholos, the presence of the divine is palpable. Statues of the gods, excluding Klothys, are arranged in a circle around a central sculpture of Kruphix, his arms open towards the door, welcoming all who enter. The engraving of Athreos on each door, representing transitions, adds to the temple's sanctity. Facing each other, Heliod and Erebos command the east and west, while other deities occupy the remaining niches. The floor and dome are adorned with braided hair motifs, a subtle nod to Klothys and the destiny that binds all. The chapels around you hold various offerings, tended to by the priestesses of the Pantheon. The scent of offerings mingles with the cool, still air, creating a serene and contemplative atmosphere. The temple's design, both in architecture and in the positioning of the deities, fosters a feeling of unity among the diverse representations of divine power."
